Hello there,
As we come to the end of this year’s fast, we end it with joy. We end it with thanksgiving. We end it knowing that God has lined up testimonies that will remind you that He is faithful and that no power is greater than Him. You will hear good news that will surprise you. This will be a season of lifting for you in the name of Jesus.
Isaiah 40 verse 28 asks a question:
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.”
This reminder is important because when we pray and wait on God, what we really need is understanding. You need to hear something from Him. You need to know something from Him that moves you from where you are to where He wants you to be.
God often begins His work inside your heart first. He gives clarity, direction and understanding. That inner work becomes the strength that produces results on the outside. Many times, it is not the lack of power that stops people. It is the lack of understanding. What you hear from God and what you know from God awakens faith in you. And once faith rises, nothing on the outside can stop what God wants to do.
Waiting on the Lord helps you separate appearance from truth. It helps you move beyond how things look and see how things really are in the Spirit. Isaiah 40 verse 30 says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.” But verse 31 gives us the key: “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”
To wait means to be attentive, expectant, calm and ready to receive. In verse 28, God again draws our attention to hearing and knowing. When God gives you understanding, He is strengthening you. He is increasing your ability.
Sometimes people think failure means God was not faithful. Most times, it simply means there was something they did not know yet. God gives understanding that lifts your heart above fear and helps you walk with confidence. He may show you a picture of what is coming soon, just so your heart can grab it and walk into it boldly.
Galatians 3 verse 5 says that God works miracles “by the hearing of faith.” Miracles do not come from human effort. They come from the voice of God being loud inside you. This is why a season of fasting is not the time to complain. Keep your heart in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving creates an atmosphere where God’s voice becomes clear.
Thanksgiving lifts your eyes away from discouragement. It quiets your heart. It removes offense. And as you give thanks, God opens your ears and makes His voice easy to recognize.
Isaiah 30 verse 15 says, “In returning and rest you shall be saved. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” When your trust is in God, He lifts your head. He does not allow you to be ashamed.
Job 22 teaches the same truth. From verse 21 onward, it says, “Acquaint now yourself with Him and be at peace… Receive instruction from His mouth… Return to the Almighty and you will be built up.” And then verse 28 says, “You shall decree a thing, and it shall be established for you, and light shall shine upon your ways.”
That light is understanding. That light is clarity. It guides your words so that your declarations carry power. When God fills your mouth with His words, He is giving you tools to shape your life.
Waiting on the Lord is an act of humility. It is saying, “Father, I do not know everything, but you do. My times are in your hands. I trust you. Speak to me. Give me understanding.” In moments like this, God strengthens your inner man. Paul prayed in Ephesians 3 verse 16 that God would strengthen us inside by His Spirit so that understanding would come.
Your heart is where God plants His word. And when His word sits in your heart, it produces life. Proverbs 4 tells us to “incline your ear” to God’s sayings because they are life to those who find them.
Psalm 145 verse 15 says, “The eyes of all wait upon you, and you give them their food in due season.” God opens His hand and satisfies the desires of His people. When He opens His hand toward you, He releases supply, wisdom and strength.
As we finish this fast, hold this in your heart.
God’s voice will come.
His wisdom will guide you.
His understanding will strengthen you.
His instructions will align your steps.
Your words will carry power.
And His light will shine on your path.
This will be a seasonof joy and surprising testimonies for you in the name of Jesus.
